5th Annual Treasure Island Music Festival Oct 15-16

What was first created as a man-made island to host the 1939 World Fair is now home to the 5th Annual Treasure Island Music Festival. For two days, music goers will experience a wide range of music from hip hop, rock, blues, and electronic from indy bands including Wild Beasts, The Head & the Heart, and Warpaint.
Already parking on Treasure Island is sold out for both days. Best to check public transit for entry. Tickets can be bought on line at the Festival’s website: http://www.treasureislandfestival.com/2011/tickets/

Rockridge 2011 Out and About Festival

Rockridge’s Annual “Out and About” is set for this Sunday, October 9th from noon – 6 pm. This festival is jammed packed every year as College Avenue is transformed into one of the best local street festivals, and focuses on the retail merchants, businesses and services located on College Avenue.
This year’s highlights will feature dance bands, a chef’s stage, Market Hall’s “Picnic in the Street,” a wellness tent, kids’ court, and Rockridge’s Runway Fashion Show. The event is sponsored by the Rockridge Business Association. For more information, visit the Festival website.
